The Retoño farm leads a project to protect the Cunagua river basin in the Cundinamarca Colombian department; with the permaculture we claim to generate a sustainable development in the region, not only for the families that are part of the yacon crops (We paid a fair price for the yacon root) , but also benefit communities around us, as women displaced by violence; with the production of yacon syrup we managed to give a decent job and an excellent environment for the growth of new generations.
Aygo is committed to support from the area of ​​our knowledge, we have helped to achieve the sale permits for the national and international market in Colombia (we already sell in a big supermarket in colombia), we also support in the obtaining process of the organic certification. With the IPD support, we have been supported in the continuous improvement of our product through an expert who reformed our production process.
Yacon syrup is a product that contains up to 50% FOS (Fructooligosaccharides), made by concentrating the juice of the roots of yacon. The physical and sensorial characteristics of yacon syrup are similar to those of honey, maple syrup, or sugar cane syrup, and it can be consumed in a similar way appealing to the health-conscious consumer interested in reducing caloric intake as well as improving the quality of their diet.
